Welcome to the Boerne Area Model Society's (BAMS) web site. Take a look at What's New in our club.

BAMS is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered remote controlled model airplane flying club located in Boerne, Texas.
Our field is temporarily located in Fair Oaks Ranch at 30260 Saratoga Lane (where it ends), north of San Antonio, Texas. See the full NOAA or Air Sports Network weather forecast for the field. A good source for wind information is Sailflow.

If you're new and want to fly, please contact an officer for details.

Come join our club meeting on the first Saturday of every month, 9:00 AM. During the summer, we usually meet at the flying field.
During the winter we meet at Lorenita's Mexican Restaurant in Boerne. We are temporarily meeting at El Chaparral in Boerne (707 S. Main Street). If you would like to join, print and fill out a New Member Packet and bring it with you to the next meeting (or you can mail it to the address shown on the first page of the packet).

What's New

Here are some of our recent and upcoming events:

December 3, 2011

  • Frank hosted the annual Christmas breakfast at the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club. A real success with good eats and great company.
  • April 6, 2012

  • A dozen or so members met with about a hundred kids at the Boerne Library for education and fun. George, the event's co-ordinator, led the kids in building foamies out of 8" plates while the other members helped the kids build. Later, some members put on a display of indoor flying with small helicopters and microlights. There was also a static display of larger planes for viewing. A great time was had by all!
  • May or June

  • The construction at the park should be complete and we should be able to get back to flying at our normal field.
